Coaches

Thank you for your interest in becoming a youth hockey coach! We as an association rely on and greatly appreciate the people willing to work as coaches. All coaches receive 100% of their volunteer hours through coaching, provided they also attend 4 HIP sessions throughout the season.


STEPS TO BECOME A COACH

  1. USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION
  2. MCYHA REGISTRATION
  3. BACKGROUND SCREENING
  4. COMPLETE SAFESPORT
  5. COMPLETE AGE SPECIFIC MODULE
  6. COMPLETE COACHING CLINIC BEFORE 12/31


STEP 1

Register with USA Hockey as a coach. The cost is $46 for the 2024-25 season.

Step 2

Register with MCYHA using the USA Hockey number from Step 1.

STEP 3

Complete a background check. Good for 2 years.


STEP 4

Complete Safesport Training every year.



STEP 5

Complete USA Hockey's online age specific module

STEP 6

Complete the online Coaching Clinic requirement before December 31st. Available in September
