Micah Hoffman

I am excited to present my candidacy for a position on the Manitowoc Youth Hockey Association Board. I have been a proud hockey parent for the past three years and have witnessed firsthand the incredible growth and development that hockey can provide. The commitment of the coaches to teach skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship has significantly impacted my son, and I am eager to contribute to this positive environment for all players.

In my professional life, I serve as the Principal of Lincoln High School. This role has equipped me with valuable leadership skills and a deep understanding of the educational system. I am passionate about advocating for the importance of sports, including hockey, in schools, as they play a vital role in personal development and resilience. I believe that by collaborating, we can strengthen the relationship between education and athletics, benefiting our students and community.

I am thrilled to see our hockey association growing and thriving. As a board member, my goal is to be a proactive advocate for hockey in Manitowoc, promoting the sport's values and benefits to families and players alike. I envision a community where hockey is an integral part of our youth's development and success. I aim to build partnerships between the association, schools, and local businesses to create an inclusive environment that encourages participation in youth hockey.

I am deeply invested in the success of hockey in our schools and community. I believe that my perspective as a hockey parent and my experience as a school principal can bring valuable insights to the Manitowoc Youth Hockey Association Board. Thank you for considering my candidacy.

Gary Novitski

I have been involved with the Manitowoc County Youth Hockey Association for 7 years, and I’m running for a second term on the board to continue supporting the organization. Over the past year, I served as the Equipment Manager, doing my best to ensure everything runs smoothly. I’ve also been through the Try Hockey for Free program all the way to Squirts, so I’m familiar with the process and can help answer any questions. I’m always available to communicate with families and am excited to keep working on making the hockey experience better for our kids!

Josh Sanders

As an accomplished leader and parent of a youth player, I bring experience of leadership, development, commitment, and a strong passion for the sport of hockey. I began my experience with hockey in 2004 where I began playing pickup games at the local pond where I continued to skate throughout my entire childhood. Eventually I progressed to playing organized hockey as a Bantam and continued through high school.

Over the last year and after roughly a 14 year break due to military obligations, I became involved with MCYHA and served as a head coach at the squirt level. With my experiences as both a player and coach, it enabled me to foster an environment revolving around encouragement, growth, development, and most importantly, fun for all youth players involved.

As a board member, my goal is to contribute to the support and development of youth hockey programs, players, and families while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork that demonstrate a successful future for the sport.

Jason Suchomel

For over a decade, I have been deeply involved in Manitowoc youth hockey, serving in various roles, including parent, board member, director of hockey, coach, team manager, and committee member. These experiences have allowed me to nurture a positive and encouraging environment where young athletes can thrive both on and off the ice.

As a board member, my goal is to contribute to the growth and development of youth hockey in our community, ensuring a bright and promising future for the sport and its players.

Ben Ullman

My name is Ben Ullman. My son Nathan will be a second-year PeeWee next year. I am running for the board because I think I can help with continuing to bring ideas to the organization that the kids can have pride in. I would love to help with some facelifts around the building that will go a long way with building long-term pride for the organization. Also, I would like to explore giving the kids more opportunities to play in home tournaments. Tournaments bring in money for the program and awareness of the super-talented kids we have playing for the Breakers.
